Conflicts of Interest
This 3 credit ethics course focuses on all of the different players in a real estate transaction. Did you know that an attorney cannot represent both sides to a transaction, regardless if both sides want dual agency? How about the fact that real estate agents cannot require borrower's to use a title company owned by their brokerage house? Or, that agents who represent both the buyer and seller to a transaction have an inherent conflict of interest, which must be waived by the client through dual agency disclosure forms?
Learn the Dos and Don'ts in real estate brokerage starting with a full understanding of Agency Disclosure and then delving into such topics as RESPA / Regulation X and untrustworthiness. Throughout, the NAR Code of Ethics is compared and contrasted with the laws applicable to real estate agents in New York State. Gain strength in your convictions when you smell impropriety during a deal.
Just because “that’s the way it’s always been done” does not mean that is the rule in real estate. Finally, licensed real estate agents will understand their license. This course is for professionals.
This course is accepted by LIBOR and HANFRA as satisfactory completion of the NAR Realtor mandatory ethics training requirements needed by December 31, 2020.
