Real Estate Brokers and Salespersons

Sexual Harassment & Brokerage

#METOO applies to brokers too. Make no mistake, sexual harassment is illegal discrimination which is prohibited by both Title VIII (Fair Housing Act) and Title VII (Equal Employment). As such, real estate brokers and salespersons must be knowledgeable about what precise activities constitute harassment in order to protect themselves, their clients and their companies. After completing this 3 hour continuing education course you will learn your rights as a victim of sexual harassment and how to prevent being sued (civilly or criminally) for the acts of others.

This course will clarify the line between harassment and welcomed sexual advances. You will learn the two categories of harassment; quid pro quo and hostile environment harassment. The rights of independent contractors and employees will be broken down under federal, state and local laws. You will gain access to resources to protect yourself and those you care about. Best of all, you will learn to respect yourself, your colleagues and those seeking housing opportunities.

*** THIS COURSE SATISFIES THE MANDATORY CLASS REQUIREMENT FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF STATE (DOS) FOR AT LEAST 3 HOURS OF INSTRUCTION PERTAINING TO FAIR HOUSING AND / OR DISCRIMINATION ***
